Thanks to the hard work of PTO president Maressa Ware and a donation from First Bank, school flower pots and the raised bed received a refresh which gave the entrance a welcoming, spring spirit. .

Food was the Love Language for Teacher Appreciation Week

Jay Simmons enjoys Techer appreciation week.
The Student Government Association treated the staff to a Coffee and Candy Bar each day and the Parent Teacher Organization provided delicious lunches of barbeque, baked beans, and coleslaw.  The teachers were so appreciative they wrote thank you notes to the organizations. Technology Support staff member Jay Simmons is one of the many staff members who enjoys their coffee.

  • Prior to the end of the softball season, Coach Elliott and Coach Weeks honored their seniors. Brynli Mitchell was joined by her grandparents, Rose and John Mitchell. Brynli has played softball for Central for 6 years. After high school she will attend Southern Union Community College on a full ride scholarship and then transfer to the University of South Alabama to earn her nursing degree. Daja Pearson was joined by her parents, Debra and Winston Pearson. Daja has also played softball for Central for 6 years.  After high school Daja will be enlisting with the U.S. Army Reserves while attending Troy University to earn a degree in business administration. Thank you to PTO president Marissa Ware for taking photographs and making senior night special for our players.

Cougar Baseball Honors Senior Diamond Dolls

Although there were no senior baseball players this season, Cougar baseball honored their two senior Diamond Doll volunteers at the end of their home season last week.  Diamond Dolls volunteer on average 25 hours a year running the concession stand, ticket booth, and managing fundraisers for Cougar Baseball.  Pictured is Coach Wilson presenting the Diamond Dolls with their memory shadow boxes.  Jeiby Garcia joined the Diamond Dolls this year and was escorted by her mother, Guadalupe Cruz.  After graduation Jeiby will be attending Central Alabama Community College to earn her nursing degree.  Kaitlyn Collins who has served four seasons, including serving as head Diamond Doll this year, was escorted by her grandparents Teresa and Billy Collins.  After graduation Kaityln will be attending Faulkner University to earn her degree in Elementary and Special Education.  Thank you Jeiby and Kaitlyn for your service to the Cougar baseball program.

7th Grade
Emily Martinez-Emily Martinez  works hard to complete all her assignments.  She is quiet and very mild tempered.  Emily strives to do well and has shown significant improvements in most all her classes.  She is very respectful to her peers and teachers. Congratulations Emily!

Charles Tillman is the best class helper. He is SUPER respectful and goes out of his way to be kind.  He works really hard in class and ALWAYS has a pleasant and positive attitude.  It is such a pleasure to have Charles as a student.  Congratulations Charles!!

Waylon Grogan  is a very well mannered young man.  He always completes his assignments in a timely manner, is very attentive in class, and always does what he is supposed to do.  He is helpful to classmates as well. In addition, Waylon serves on the Central Honor Guard.  Congratulations Waylon!

Kaylee Hand is quiet and reserved in class, but she is one of the smartest students here at CHS. She is quick to ask questions, as needed,  for clarification.   Kaylee  always completes assignments to the best of her ability in a timely manner.  Congratulations Kaylee!

Skylar Newman is a very important member of the CBN team. She helps organize, write and produce scripts. She is always willing to help out. She is also very dedicated to band and volunteers for after-school activities.  Skylar is a model student and an asset to our school.  Congratulations Skylar!

Brody Hyatt is an all around great student.  He is always concerned about his work and works hard to do well.   Brody has a mild tempered and gentle spirit.   He is always willing to help his teachers and peers., when needed.  Brody is highly mature and his character is without reproach.  Congratulations Brody!
